After
reading your book, please take a cereal box or smaller box and decorate the
outside in some way that conveys some of the major themes, details, or elements
found in the book. Also include on the outside the Title, Author, Genre in a
sentence, Setting, and Main characters.
On
the inside of the box, please include the following:
Vocabulary: Find five new words that contain a prefix
or a suffix. Explain the meaning of the root word and how the prefix or suffix
affects the meaning.
Sequencing: Draw a comic strip with 5-6 events from
the story in order. Make sure to have a climax and at least two rising and
falling actions.
Perspective: Pretend that you are a reporter
interviewing the main character. Write a list of questions that you want to ask
and the answers your character would give. Include at least 7-10 quality
questions.
Theme: Write a paragraph about the main idea and/or theme of the
book. Make sure to give three examples from the text for support.

**As you read, please
complete a 2-3 sentence summary for each chapter. This can be done on
post-it’s, which can be pasted into your literature notebook when you are
completed, or they can just be kept in your literature notebook. These will be checked by your teacher one
week prior to the due date of the report.***
Please
plan ahead. We suggest you make a timeline of what you need to get done each
week in order to complete your report on time. Your book report needs to be
neatly done and turned in on time. Below is an example of how the book report
