Book Report Assignment
Your book
report should contain the following:
· the title and author
· the genre of your book: Example, folktale,
historical fiction, biography, autobiography, realistic fiction, mystery,
fantasy.
· description of the setting, rising action (3),climax, steps
to resolution (3) and resolution.
· a picture of your favorite part in the novel
in color.
· a Venn diagram that compares the protagonist
and antagonist in the book or a character comparison.
· five new words you learned from the novel used in
sentences that display your understanding.
· a one paragraph book review, minimum
of five sentences
Your book
report needs to be neatly done and turn in on time. Below is an example of how
your grade will be evaluated.

Line
Select
a book you can read in three weeks. Must be at least one
hundred pages. Divide the number
of pages by fifteen and that is the number of pages you read per day.

Week one Write the title of your book, author, and
genre.
Week two Write the setting of the story and the main characters on
your plot line
Week three Write the climax of the story, steps to resolution,
resolution
Week four Finalize
your report by writing sentences for new words, and your book review. Draw your favorite scene in the story.
Ongoing After each chapter, write on a sticky note the
main idea for the chapter. Place
at the beginning of the chapter. If you find a new word you would like to use
in your report, write the word and page number. This way you can go back
to it later.
Check in with your teacher each week that you have met
the requirements for your book report.
It is never a wise choice to wait until the last minute.
