The name of the book is The Boggart. The author is Susan Cooper. This book was published in 1993, and it is 196 pages long. There are many important characters in the book. The most important character is the Boggart, an ancient spirit that loves to play tricks on people. Jessup is a 10 year old boy who loves electronics and hangs with his geeky friends. Emily is Jessup's 13 year old sister. She loves theatre and is the first to discover the Boggart.
The Boggart is a book about the Volnik family who inherit a castle in Scotland. They visit the castle keep, and when they return home, they unknowingly bring home the Boggart in a desk. Emily and Jessup soon become victims of the Boggart's pranks, but they have no idea what is going on. One of Emily's friends knows about Boggarts and explains what is happening. Jessup and Emily figure out how to communicate with the Boggart through their computer. The Boggart enters the computer and Emily and Jessup save him onto a disk. They send the disk to their friend , Tommy, in Scotland. He puts the disk into the computer and releases the Boggart. The Boggart is home and glad to be playing pranks again.
I thought The Boggart was a really good book. I recommend this book for teens who like fantasy or comedy books. I love the way the Boggart pulls pranks. For example, the time the Boggart went into the theatre during rehearsal and changed all of the light settings, sending everything into confusion. This book is unique because you have an ancient spirit in a modern technological world. This is a great book.Book Details:
