The name of this book is Fahrenheit 451. The author's name is Ray Bradbury. This book was published in 1953 by The Random House Publishing Group. The book was 179 pages. The main character is Guy Montag. He meets a 17 year old girl named Clarisse McClella who changes his life. Late in the book, he teams up with a man named Faber. His wife, Mildred, is eventually his betrayer who turns him into the police.
Guy Montag, a fireman who sets fire to books for they are illegal, was a very happy man until he met a seventeen year old girl named Clarisse McClella who gives him a whole new perspective on life. She tells him about simpiler times when firemen stopped fires instead of started them. She was eventually hit by a car and never heard from again but she still made an impact on Guy's life. Guy finally gets tempted and brings many illegal books home for him to read. He goes to see a professor named Faber, and they make a plan to make the books legal again. Before they can execute this plan, he is caught, but kills the man and runs away. He reaches these people who take him in and he lives with them for the rest of his life.
Fahrenheit 451 was a very interesting book. It was a little confusing but fun to read. I would suggest this book to be read by high schoolers instead of middle schoolers. This was formal at the beginning and had a little action at the end. It was a little hard to keep up with differences between their society and ours. There was even a metallic dog that you could set to make it kill someone or something.
