I read a wonder novel and it was called The Chronicles of Narnia,The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe by: C.S. Lewis. This book was first published in 1950 and has 189 pages. The four main characters happen to be all siblings and they are Peter, the oldest, Susan, second oldest, Edmund, third oldest, and Lucy, the youngest.Peter is a responsible, tall young man with blonde hair and s always looking out for his brother and sisters. Susan is a very gentle and caring young woman s always tying to keep her brothers and sister safe. Edmund is a self centered, sarcastic, little beast. Always picking on his little sister, Lucy, and can't stand being wrong. Edmund's whole life changed, for the better, when he had a near death experience. Lucy is a sweet little girl that is filled with innocence, truth and is always there for people in their time of need.
The story has four main characters that are siblings named Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy Pevancy. They were moved temporarily from their home in London to the Professor's mansion in the heart of the countryside because there was a war going on in the city. The youngest, Lucy, discovered a magical wardrobe that took the four of them to the enchanted land of Narnia. The children found themselves in the middle of a war between good and evil which was a war between Aslan the heroic king and the White Witch and her "Forever Winter" curse on Narnia. Thanks to the children, their leadership and compassion resulted in the defeat of the White Witch and her curse. After the war Narnia flourished and the children became great kings and queens of Narnia. Years passed until they saw the wardrobe again. When they returned back through the wardrobe they found that time had stood still.
Are you tired of reading boring books? Well The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe is the right book for you. This is an action-packed, magical thrill ride into an enchanted world. The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe keeps you on the edge of your seat with adventure and mythical creatures. What I liked about this book was that it reminded me of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Aslan sacrificed his life to save Edmund, so the prophecy says that if you sacrifice your life for another and you are not guilty you may be resurrected for your good deed. Not only is there religious undertones, fauns, talking beavers, and centaurs roam the land as the children of Narnia trek through their adventurous odyssey. Other children would like this book because I think that the creativity of the author stimulates the readers imagination.
