The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader

The name of the book is "The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, The Chronicles of Narnia: Book Five". The book was originally published in 1952. This book has 271 pages in it. The four most important characters are Edmund, Lucy, Eustace, and King Caspian. Edmund and Lucy are brother and sister and are a King and Queen of Narnia, their sister, Susan, is a Queen and their brother, Peter, is the High King. Edmund is a reasonable character and Lucy is both valiant and nice. Eustace, Edmund and Lucy's cousin, is a very whiny, lazy, and a little mean boy but after a while became helpful, brave, and more nice. King Caspian is the most recent king of Narnia. He's nice and friendly but can be short tempered, demanding, and sometimes strict.

The Story begins at Eustace's house where Edmund and Lucy are staying. Magicly, Edmund, Lucy, and Eustace were transported into a sea and were rescued by King Caspian and put on a ship called,"The Dawn Treader". Caspian is out at sea because his Uncle, Miraz, got rid of seven to Caspian's Father. He did this by sending them to explore the unknown eastern seas. Caspian wants to find them or learn of their deaths and avenge them if possible. Joining them is their talking mouse friend, Reepicheep. They managed to find two Lords( Caspian's Father's friends) alive and two Lords dead. They found the last three Lords endlessly sleeping. To break the enchantment, they have to sail to the worlds end and leave someone there, Reepicheep volunteered. In the end Reepicheep sailed away to Aslan's country and Aslan transported the children home.

I like the book because it's full of action, adventure, and discovery. In the book there's action when a sea serpent tried to destroy the Dawn Treader. There's adventure, for example: When the characters had to sail into the darkness. There's discovery because on the Dawn Treader they discover new islands. One of the islands had water that turns things into gold. I think kids my age will like the fact that there's talking animals and magic and excitement. There are also times where the book is funny. Any kid my age who likes fantasies will like this book.
