Tree Castle Island

The name of this exciting and memorable book is Tree Castle Island. The author of this book is Jean Craighhead George. The publishcation date of this story was in 2003 and Tree Castle Island has 242 pages. One main character in the book is uncle Hamp and he is the one who lives near the Okefenokee Swamp and is teaching Jack how to survive there. Jack is a fourteen year old and he made his own canoe to go out in. Also he gets lost so he has to use his surviving skills to survive out in the harsh wild. Last there is a boy named Jack and he looks exactly like Jack and he acts like him too. It turns out that the both of them are twins and they did not even know it. These are the the main character interesting and the most interesting ones too.

it all starts when Jack's parents leave to go to Europe and leave him at uncle Hamp's house. Then when Jack gets there uncle Hamp said he is leaving for awhile so Jack is alone and will go into the swamp for awhile. Then he gets lost and gets attacked by a alligator and his canoe is damaged and so he has to stay on the island for awhile because he has to find stuff to fix his canoe. While on the Island he builds many things like a spa, tree house, and a fish trap. Then he meets a boy named Jake who looks like Jack and then they become friends so they stay on the island and build a tree castle. Finally Jack fixes his canoe but doesn't want to leave because hr is having a great time but he has to get home to tell his uncle of his adventures. So when he gets back he tells uncle Hamp of his adventures and asks if Jake is his brother. It turns out that the boys are brothers and they did not even know it. This book is great and will teach you a thing or two.

The thing that i loved about the book is that it could happen and it would be cool to survive like Jack did. In Georgia there is a swamp called the Okefenokee and it is just like the book describes. Other people will find this book very exciting and also it gives very interesting facts about the environment. One fact it gives is he has to gather to get food and he hunts bear and rabbit. In the book Jack finds out that he has a twin brother and that must have felt horrible. Even though he was adopted he was loved and he is becoming a good engineer. The way he builds thing is very good like Jake.This book is an interesting and fact filled book everyone would like.
