Slaughterhouse-Five

The name of this book is Slaughterhouse-Five, by Kurt Vonnegut. Published in 1969, 275 pages. Some of the main characters of Slaughterhouse-Five are:

Billy Pilgrim: is the main character throughout the whole book, and is the hero of Slaughterhouse-Five. Billy Pilgrim is not a normal man though, Billy becomes unstuck in time, and uncontrollably time-travels throughout his life, mostly as a veteran in World War II were he is kept as a prisoner of war in Dresden. He also goes through death, birth, marriage, and many other scenes throughout his life.

Montana Wildheck: Is a movie star also abducted by Tralfamadorians (aliens) with Billy and becomes Billy's mate on the Tralfamadorians planet, and eventually gives birth to Billy's baby.

Ronald Weary: a solider that fights in World War II with Billy, he is very entergetic, adn thinks he is the leader of the group. He also is taken as a prisoner of war with Billy, and he dies in the prisoner of war boxcar on the way to Dresden.

Billy Pilgrim lives his life out of order, and is a time-traveler. Though Billy's way of time-traveling is different. He uncotrollably Travels throughout his life, experiencing birth, adn death, numerous amounts of time. In this book he is taken as a prisoner of war with his friend Roland Weary, and then jumps to being a fatherof his daughter Barbra. then in the middle, he is abducted by Tralfamadorians, and is shown at a zoo like prison, and is observed by the aliens naked. there on the planet, he meets Montana Wildheck, and they start to feel comfortable with each other, and eventually she gives birth to Billy's first son, Robert Pilgrim. Even though part of this book shows Billy's life going forward, he also goes backwards, and that shows that billy had the immortality to live forever. in the end, but not really, Billy is shot by a man that was a prisoner of war with him, and even after he dies, he moves back to another part of his life, so ultimately, he lives forever.

Kurt Vonnegut way of writing has a beautiful tone to it. some of his books don't have plots, or a beginning to an end, they are mixed up, but that is the beauty of it. when you read this book it seem that you are talking to a real person, for example, throughout the book, he says so it goes, at the end of some of the paragraphs, he says so it goes, and I feel that it makes the book humorous.I would recommend this to any person who loves to be challenged with reading and would enjoy a book that isn't straight forward beginning to end. this is a very dramatic but fun book, and I hope you enjoy.
