We compare and contrast plots, characters, and settings
by different authors, as well as compare and contrast
different versions of the same stories that reflect
different cultures.

We learn about differences between long ago and now;
how the local government works; we learn about our
country's landmarks and famous people; and about
consumerism.

Students learn about animals and their characteristics,
life cycles, and how plants develop and grow in Life
Science. They learn about rocks and fossils in Earth
Science. They learn about simple machines in Physical
Science, as well as how sound is made by vibrating
objects.

We teach spelling rules and how to spell frequently
used, irregular words correctly.
