We believe that education extends beyond the classroom. Our diverse range of extracurricular activities provides students with opportunities to develop leadership skills, explore new interests, and deepen their faith. By participating in these activities, students are empowered to grow in all aspects of life—intellectually, spiritually, socially, and emotionally—while becoming active members of both our school and the broader community.
Living out our Catholic values is at the heart of everything we do. We encourage our students to take an active role in the faith community through a variety of spiritual activities:
School Masses & Prayer Services: Students participate in regular Masses and prayer services to deepen their relationship with God and grow in the Catholic faith.
Faith in Action: Students are encouraged to engage in service projects and outreach opportunities, living out the Gospel message by serving those in need in our parish and beyond.
Religious Retreats & Reflection Days: Opportunities for students to participate in spiritual retreats, where they reflect on their faith, develop personal prayer practices, and strengthen their relationship with Christ.
We celebrate throughout the year with school-wide celebrations, seasonal traditions, and spiritual growth opportunities.
School-Wide Celebrations & Liturgies: Throughout the year, we gather for All-School Masses, prayer services, and special feast day celebrations, including key Catholic holidays like Advent, Lent, and Catholic Schools Week. These liturgical events offer students opportunities to grow in faith, deepen their relationship with God, and foster a strong sense of community.
Seasonal Traditions: Our students engage in school-wide traditions that celebrate our faith, school spirit, and sense of community. These events bring together students, families, and staff for fun, fellowship, and opportunities to support our school through fundraising. Our most notable gatherings include our parish Harvest Faire in the fall, our Town Halls where we reflect on important themes, and seasonal festivities such as the Spooktacular Halloween event, the Christmas Festival, and the Fun Run, each of which fosters school spirit and camaraderie. Families also come together for Family Game Night, an evening of friendly competition and connection, and we celebrate the special bond between generations with Grandparents Day, where our students honor their grandparents through heartfelt activities and a special prayer service.
Retreats and Spiritual Growth Opportunities: Students of all grade levels participate in grade-specific retreats and/or spiritual enrichment days. These allow students to reflect on their faith and their role as disciples of Christ.
Peer Mentoring & Leadership Roles: Through our Buddy Program and Faith Family gatherings, older students are given the opportunity to serve as mentors to younger students, fostering a sense of responsibility, care, and leadership.
We are committed to fostering intellectual curiosity and academic excellence in our students. Through clubs and competitions, students have the chance to explore new fields of interest and challenge themselves academically:
National Junior Honor Society (NJHS): The NJHS chapter honors students who demonstrate excellence in scholarship, leadership, service, character, and citizenship, fostering a commitment to faith and community.
California Junior Scholastic Federation (CJSF): CJSF recognizes and encourages academic excellence, community service, and leadership among middle school students, empowering them to grow as responsible, service-oriented scholars.
Catholic Academic Junior High Decathlon: Our students participate in the Academic Decathlon, a rigorous competition that challenges them in various subjects, including literature, math, science, and current events, while promoting teamwork and perseverance.
National Spelling Bee: Students also have the opportunity to compete in the National Spelling Bee, honing their spelling, vocabulary, and language skills in a friendly but challenging environment.
Student Leadership: Through Student Leadership, students develop key skills in organization, public speaking, and teamwork, while actively contributing to school-wide initiatives and activities.
Science Competitions: Students participate in local and state science challenges, sharpening problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
We believe that every child is a creative individual with unique talents. Our arts programs offer students opportunities to express themselves, whether through music, drama, or visual arts:
Music & Choir: Students can participate in the school choir, performing at school events and Masses.
We strive to build a sense of teamwork, discipline, and physical well-being through our sports and fitness programs. These activities help students develop a healthy lifestyle while learning important life skills such as perseverance, communication, and sportsmanship:
Intramural & Competitive Sports: Students can participate in a variety of sports including basketball, cross-country, and track and field, with opportunities to compete at various levels through our CYO program.
Physical Education: Our PE program focuses on developing physical fitness, motor skills, and an appreciation for lifelong health.
We believe in nurturing responsible citizens who will go on to make a positive impact in the world. Our school offers numerous opportunities for students to engage with the community and take on leadership roles:
Service Projects: We believe in putting our faith into action. Throughout the year, students engage in hands-on service to help the local parish and community, from volunteering at local shelters to organizing charity drives.
Peer Mentoring: Older students mentor younger students, helping them with academic tasks, providing emotional support, and fostering positive relationships across grade levels.
Leadership: For 8th Graders Only
Educational Field Trips Our students participate in educational field trips that align with the curriculum, such as visits to museums, historical landmarks, and local nature reserves.
